Snotneus /Snotnose

Het is bedtijd voor de kids. De oudste is al naar z'n kamer gehuppeld, op zoek naar het dichtst bijzijnde stripboek, terwijl ik bij de jongste zit. Boekje lezen, haren kammen en meer van dat al. Gezellig tutten. Ik wil haar al helemaal instoppen, als ze opmerkt 'ik heb m'n luier nog niet aan!' oeps, da's waar ook. Ze is alleen 's nachts nog niet helemaal zindelijk.
'Wil je liggend of staand?' vraag ik.
'Staand!' roept ze gretig. De manier die pappa en mamma niet zo goed kunnen, begreep ik laatst. Toch wel leuk om dat bij de oppas wel te doen, dan.
Ze gaat op bed staan, zodanig dat ik er makkelijk bij kan.
Het ene plakkertje zit al snel vast. Nu de lastigste, die waar weinig licht is. Ze heeft ook nog eens lang haar, net zoals ik zelf, waardoor het even graven is voor ik in onzer beiden neerhangende bossen de weg naar het plakkertje heb gevonden. Net op het moment dat ik 'm heb gevonden, niest ze. Recht in m'n oor. Ik voel de fluim m'n oor in schieten werkelijk waar. Daar bestaat maar een oplossing voor: samen in de lach schieten :)



It's bedtime for the children. The oldest one has made his way to his room, looking for the nearest comic book, while I am joining the youngest. Reading a book, combing hairs and more of that. Nice and cozy. I want to tuck her in, when she tells me 'I am not wearing my nappy yet!' oops, she's right. Only at night, she sometimes has a problem keeping dry.
'Do you want to lay down or stand up?' I ask.
'Stand!' she yells eagerly. The way that mum and dad can't, I have understood before. Then it's nice to have a babysit who can, I suppose.
She stands on her bed, in a way that makes it easier for me to do it.
One of the sticky sides is already taken care of. Now the more hard one, with less light. To add to that, we both have long hairs, so I have to dig through all the pieces of hair to the sticky band. Right at the moment that I've found it, she sneezes. Into my ear. I feel the snot shooting into my ear. There's really only one solution to that one: laughing very hard together :)
